Press Release

Washington, DC – Today, the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) released a compilation of legislative solutions, many of them bipartisan, authored by CBC Members to bolster underserved communities introduced in the in the House and Senate during the 114th Congress:

“As we celebrate the life and legacy of the Rev. Martin Luther King,

Jr., it is important to reflect on his commitment to the poor and underserved across America,” said Rep. Richmond. “As we move into a new administration the CBC has laid out a clear legislative path to honor that commitment and level the playing field so that members of these communities can achieve equality through upward mobility.

These bills serve as a demonstration of the leadership the CBC has already displayed on these issues and a guideline of where our focus will be in the coming years.”
