Rep. Richmond Announces $58.4M in Disaster Recovery Grants for LSU School of Dentistry
WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Richmond (LA-02) announced the availability of disaster recovery grants for areas still reeling from the impact of Hurricane Katrina. These grants funded through the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will help to repair the LSU School of Dentistry.
The School of Dentistry will receive the full $58.4 million for consolidated projects and hazard mitigation:
“The LSU School of Dentistry has been among the most prestigious institutions in the region for decades,” said Rep. Richmond. “This funding from the Department of Homeland security will allow LSU to not only restore their facilities from damage incurred before the storm, but also modernize the program to ensure that it remains one of the premiere professional schools in the nation.”
