Rep. Richmond Announces More Than $4.5 Million in FEMA Grants for the East Baton Rouge School Board and Police Department

WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Cedric Richmond (LA-02) announced the availability of more than $4.5 million in federal funding for the East Baton Rouge School Board and East Baton Rouge Parish. The funds will go towards replacing East Baton Rouge Police Department vehicles damaged beyond repair in the August flooding and remediation activities at Glen Oaks Park High school which suffered significant flood damage.

 

“I am pleased to announce additional federal resources that will continue to help the Baton Rouge community recover after the devastating August flooding,” said Rep. Richmond.  “We will continue to ensure the federal government lives up to its responsibility of overseeing a full recovery for all.”

 

FEMA grants announced today include:

 

EAST BATON ROUGE SCHOOL BOARD
The award provides $1,646,402.00 in federal funding to the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board for remediation activities at Glen Oaks Park High

BATON ROUGE
The award provides $2,910,406.39 in federal funding to East Baton Rouge Parish for work associated with replacing East Baton Rouge Police Department vehicles which were damaged beyond repair
