RICHMOND STATEMENT ON SHORT TERM CR EXTENSION

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Cedric L. Richmond (LA-2) today released the following statement after voting against the Republican spending bill that would fund the government for two additional weeks.

“This two week extension of the Continuing Resolution is a band-aid on a deep wound. It’s a quick fix solution that keeps Americans in limbo, when they depend on the government to work,” said Congressman Cedric L. Richmond. “Both sides need to come together and do the hard job of completing the budget for the rest of this fiscal year. Republicans need to drop the politics and compromise in earnest with Democrats.”
